The power of the Cigar

Nothing invokes such subtle sophistication or mystique to me than the cigar.  Sitting in a cigar lounge at a great steak restaurant with my favorite cigar and a glass of single malt scotch after a fine dinner rates up there with some of life’s great moments.  For those of you who smoke cigars, I’m betting you know exactly what I mean.  From cutting the cap, lighting up with your favorite Colibri lighter, and enjoying a fine smoke with your favorite drink. It’s that time to relax and truly savor what you have, and to just enjoy the moment.  Cigar smokers feel like they are a part of a club, where we all understand the pleasure of smoking cigars and have that in common with one another. 

I want to welcome you to CollectorCigars.com.  It’s a place I hope you come back to now and again where we can talk about cigars and just relax.  It’s laid back here, so light up your favorite cigar and look around.

In the Lounge is a forum where you can talk to me and other cigar smokers about your favorite cigars.  And don’t be afraid to ask questions about any aspect of cigar smoking.  If you’re new to cigars, or joined the club a long time ago, the Cigar Lounge is for you. 

Cigar collecting can mean a lot of different things.  And since it covers such a broad category, I hope to cover as much ground here as possible.  The obvious choice of course is collecting cigars.  For this you will need a humidor.  This is the needed accessory to store your cigars in the proper temperature and humidity that it takes to preserve your cigar.  Much like wine, a cigar can age.  However, not preserving your cigar properly can ruin that fine box of Cohibas you paid good money for.  Look in our Recommendations section for popular cigars you might want to collect.  And check out our Articles section about collecting and storing cigars. It covers everything you will care to know about humidors, temperature, humidity and even bugs that can ruin your cigars if not stored properly.

Cigar collecting can also mean collecting cigar labels, cigar boxes, and accessories like lighters, cutters, ashtrays and almost any accessory associated with cigar smoking.  In the Articles section we will discuss this and many other facets of cigar collecting.
